The Health and Safety Executive reports that 23% of all accidents and major injuries involve workplace transport.
We're teaming up with VUE to give clients access to new equipment which we believe will decrease the number of claims and make operating and being in close proximity to forklift trucks a lot safer.
This technology has successfully decreased the number of accidents for our haulage clients. We recently tested it with a group of forklift truck clients and are already seeing positive changes in behaviours and a decrease in incidents.
The technology involves placing two cameras on a forklift, one forward facing camera and one driver facing camera placed at the top of the driver cab. The cameras are hooked up to an online system. So, if there’s an incident, video is available immediately. It can then be sent to our Claims team, speeding up the claims process - enabling the claims team to pay appropriate claims more quickly, or use the evidence in claims defensibility. The technology is installed by our third party partner VUE.
The new system will cost £599 plus VAT and includes installation. Contact VUE to talk about the package and book in your installation on 0161 877 2257 (option 1) or via email at axa@vue-cctv.co.uk or sales@vue-cctv.co.uk.
Human Form Recognition camera technology has proven to decrease the number of incidents and near-misses, resulting in fewer and faster claims processes. It is designed to support construction site safety by helping operators detect workers in risk zones around plant machinery, and by giving site managers insights into alert data to improve site processes. They also provide clear evidence when an incident occurs.
The technology consists of camera systems placed around the plant machinery, allowing a 360° view of the machine’s surroundings. The human detection cameras provide a real-time visual and audible alert in-cab to warn the operator of the potential danger. The high-definition image highlights the risk, enabling operators to take the necessary action. An external speaker can also be fitted to warn the individual at risk and increase worker awareness of the operating machine.
If an incident does occur, the camera systems provide immediate evidence that can be used for a claim, speeding up the claims process.
Different vehicles and machines will require a different specification of hardware.
