Teenage girl learning to drive in the car at the wheel with a female driving instructor

Safer driving

Turning kids into driving instructors! We’d love you to be involved.

AXA Retail recognises the positive impact that safe driving habits can have for its customers and their families.

We conducted a survey of 2,000 motorists and the findings were eye opening. Some drivers admitted breaking the law by speeding (44 per cent)*, using a mobile phone when driving (19 per cent) or even driving through a zebra crossing when people are waiting to cross the road (7 per cent).

Our research also revealed that a tenth have neglected to wear a seatbelt and one in 20 have failed to check if children in the car are wearing seatbelts, risking their safety.
Seeing that road users are making poor choices at the wheel highlights the need for more awareness on this topic.

So, in AXA Retail we’re on a mission with our latest initiative focusing on Safer Driving. We want to turn kids into driving instructors, giving them the confidence to talk about safer driving with their families. Working with schools, we’ll provide engaging and educational content to teach children essential driving principles. Together, we can ensure the lessons of today lead to safer roads tomorrow.

We aim to:

  • Make AXA the No.1 insurer in educating people on how to drive more safely.
  • Create a safer driving programme to be delivered to schools including educational videos, engaging activities and guides for parents.
  • Engage our people to volunteer and help run Safer Driving sessions.

We’d love to bring you on the Safer Driving journey. If your brokerage would like to know more then please reach out to plimarketing@axa-insurance.co.uk.
