  1. What's your favourite thing about working at AXA?
  2. AXA's an incredible organisation, huge scale, great products, strong brand, but for me it's the people that make any organisation. Since I have been here I would have to say one of the many standout things about the organisation are the people whom I have had the opportunity to work with and the experiences, skills and passion they bring.

  3. What is the best advice you've been given?
  4. My dad has often said to me when I'm debating on whether or not to do something "...maybe sometimes it's riskier not to take a risk. Sometimes all you're guaranteeing is that things will stay the same". It's normally enough to get me to make a decision.

  5. If you didn’t work in insurance what industry would you like to work in?
  6. I would have probably worked in technology in particular security and encryption.

  7. Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?
  8. Sir Alex Ferguson, Michael Jordan, Jeff Bezos, Phil Knight, Warren Buffett.

  9. How has the eTrade landscape changed in recent times?
  10. Digital trading across our industry is gaining more prominence. More and more brokers are accessing platforms to obtain quotes and bind business. We only have to look at our own business and see the growth we have been achieving over the past few years. I also believe insurers are themselves investing more money, energy and time in digital trading, enhancing the overall experience for those who trade through this channel.

  11. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
  12. I had tea with the Queen at her garden party a few years ago.

  13. How do you see innovation affecting the insurance industry?
  14. When you think of innovation and insurance you normally conclude with disruption. Which may be the case in some situations. My belief is innovation is what will ensure our industry is as relevant tomorrow as it has been since the first insurance product was constructed. Over the next few years we are going to see a fundamental transformation across our industry which will be driven by areas such as the Internet of Things (IoT), advanced analytics, telematics, the Global Positioning System (GPS), mobile phones, digital platforms, drones, blockchain, smart contracts, and artificial intelligence (AI). All of these areas will provide new ways to measure, control, price risk, engage with customers, reduce cost, improve efficiency, and potentially even expand insurability. All of these over time will play their way into digital eTrade.

  15. What do you like to do outside of work?
  16. I enjoy spending time with my kids who are full of energy! I also try and make time to play sports and catch up with friends.

  17. What's your message to our brokers?
  18. Firstly, I would like to say thank you to all the brokers who continue to support and partner with AXA. We appreciate your support as I know there is a lot of choice in the market place and I'm immensely proud that you choose AXA.

To those brokers who are not as familiar with what we do and importantly why we stand out in our chosen markets my message is simple come and try us. We offer perhaps the broadest range of products and services in the market and provide insurance solutions for customers from micro SMEs through to Mid-Market and large Corporate businesses. We have distinct propositions for particular sectors and can facilitate placement either open market through our extensive branch network or online through our digital trading division, Connect. We are also well placed to support scheme and affinities within our Schemes division where we have created a unique proposition to grow existing schemes and help build new ones with you. If you partner with an insurer that has continually ranked top for claims service, has strong underwriting pedigree and has empowered local trading presence then we are the insurer for you and your customers.

  19. How have we adapted our eTrade offering to stay relevant in an ever-changing, highly competitive market?
  20. We have traditionally been what I would class as early adopters in the digital eTrade world. Over the last few years we have invested strongly in our eTrade capabilities, from the experts we have brought into our business through to our product and cover offering as well as enhancing our Omni-channel service. We are always working on something new and most recently we launched our PI combined product. This came on the back of growing broker feedback that they would like a combined PI product to trade digitally with AXA.
