AXA is pleased to announce that it is one of the sponsors for Pride in London 2017, an annual event celebrating the capital's LGBT+ community.
This year's event, which runs from 24 June to 9 July including the Pride in London Parade on 8 July, is set to be the biggest yet, with more than a million people across the capital expected to take part.
AXA is the sole insurance sponsor of Pride in London 2017 and members of the team marched in Pride Parades in London, Glasgow and Manchester last year. Around 100 AXA staff are expected to be part of the Pride in London Parade this year from AXA Insurance, PPP healthcare, AXA Investment Managers and AXA Partners.
Darrell Sansom, chief marketing officer, AXA UK said: “We are very proud to sponsor Pride in London this year and applaud the excellent work that Pride in London has done to date. We wholeheartedly agree with their ethos that everyone should be comfortable being themselves at work or at home, regardless of their background.
“There is a long history of promoting inclusion at AXA, whether that is among staff or our business partners. We look forward to working with Pride in London in the future and marching in the parade next month.”
Polly Shute, Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship, Pride in London, added: “We're delighted that AXA are supporting Pride in London this year. We could not deliver such an incredible event without such support from the business community.
"AXA has a strong history of supporting the diversity and inclusion agenda and has been involved with Prides in the UK and USA for a number of years. We're excited to have them as such an important member of our London LGBT+ family."
Pride in London was launched in 2013 with the aim of promoting the rights and acceptance of LGBT+ in London, the UK and abroad. More than 40,000 people took part in the parade alone in 2016.
